Catie Smith, a Senior Attorney at Cobb & Gonzalez, specializes in construction law, business law, business transactions, and general liability matters. With extensive courtroom experience, Ms. Smith has litigated numerous jury and non-jury trials throughout her career.
Ms. Smith also has extensive experience defending internationally known businesses in general liability matters efficiently and effectively. Ms. Smith has successfully defended individuals and businesses in numerous types of premises liability matters, medical malpractice matters, and automobile accident matters. Her keen attention to detail has resulted in the dismissal of multiple high-demand cases and positive resolutions for her clients.
Ms. Smith earned her degrees in Political Science and English from the University of North Florida before pursuing her Juris Doctor degree at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she graduated Cum Laude and ranked in the top 20% of her class. During her time at law school, she distinguished herself as a member of the Trial Team, serving as its Vice-President in her third year. She was also an active member of the Phi Delta Phil Legal Honors Society and participated as a pupil in the Chester Bedell Inn of Court. Ms. Smith received book awards in various legal subjects, including Contracts, Torts, Property, and Professional Responsibility.
Outside of her legal career, Ms. Smith enjoys spending time with her husband, Brandon, and their two daughters, Autumn and Selena. In her leisure time, she can often be found exploring new hiking trails, swimming in the Suwannee River, or simply unwinding with her family.
